Our Wedding Toile

Our wedding toile de jouy draws inspiration from the 18th-century French textile tradition, originally known for its delicate, pastoral scenes printed in a single color on cotton or linen.  Historically used to depict idyllic country life, toile has long symbolized charm, storytelling, and timeless elegance.  For our own pattern, we selected scenes that reflect places and moments meaningful to us—from strolls in Dupont Circle to our first holiday celebrated together—woven together to celebrate our story and setting.  Can you identify each setting?
